Job description
About the Company
Notion is an AI-powered collaborative workspace designed to help teams and agents work side by side. It brings knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools into one place so work feels more connected, faster, and easier to manage. Individuals, startups, and large organizations all use Notion to run their day-to-day work.
Employees at Notion, called Notinos, are treated as the company’s first users in shaping the future of work. The culture values craft, durable building, and the belief that meaningful work remains deeply human. Rather than focusing only on shipping features, teams aim to define how people collaborate in the AI era through systems of record, AI agents, and automation that removes repetitive work.
About the Role
Notion is seeking an Early Career Recruiter to help redefine how early-career hiring is done. This role is ideal for someone who likes building from the ground up, enjoys creating new programs and candidate experiences, and sees employer brand, candidate experience, and assessment design as creative challenges in an AI-driven world.
You will lead Notion’s early-career recruiting strategy from end to end with support from a strong team. That includes how the company reaches talent communities, evaluates candidates, develops emerging talent, and turns interns and new graduates into future Notinos. You’ll partner closely with teams across Engineering, Product, Design, Sales, and People.
This position may be based in San Francisco or New York City. The team works together in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and the role is best suited to someone who is enthusiastic about collaborating in person on those anchor days.
What You'll Do
- Build and run a distinctive early-career recruiting engine, including internships, new graduate pipelines, and 0–2 year from school programs that are scalable and aligned with Notion’s identity.
- Develop new approaches to finding talent beyond traditional campus recruiting, including communities, hackathons, open-source spaces, AI-native sourcing tools, and creative outreach.
- Create evaluation methods that go beyond standard interview loops and better show how early-career candidates think, learn, and build.
- Strengthen the employer brand by working with Communications, Design, and People to tell a compelling story about why Notion is a great place to start a career.
- Coach hiring managers and interviewers so they can assess early-career talent with fairness, depth, and strong standards.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of recruiting experience, with substantial exposure to early-career, university, or program-based hiring.
- A strong builder mindset and enthusiasm for creating new systems rather than only maintaining existing ones.
- Curiosity about identifying and assessing emerging talent, along with a willingness to test new sourcing and engagement ideas.
- Strong judgment around employer brand and candidate experience, with an understanding of how each interaction shapes trust and perception.
- Ability to shift comfortably between strategy and hands-on execution.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across candidates, hiring teams, and cross-functional partners.
- Comfort using data to guide decisions, identify patterns, and support recommendations.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or helping launch an early-career program from the ground up.
- Experience with unconventional sourcing or assessment methods and the ability to explain what you learned from them.
- Strong familiarity with the early-career talent market for engineering and technical roles.
- Hands-on experience with Notion and enthusiasm for the product.
Compensation
Notion offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Final pay depends on factors such as location, scope, complexity, experience, and expertise. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the expected base salary range is $135,000 to $151,000 per year.
Privacy and Application Terms
By submitting an application, you acknowledge that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries will collect and process your information in line with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy and NYLL 144.
AI at Notion
Notion expects employees to be curious, experimental, and comfortable using AI as a practical collaborator in their work. Deep AI specialization is not required for every role, but when AI fluency is essential, it is stated explicitly in the qualifications. People who do well here use AI to think more effectively and create work that others can easily build on.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodations
Notion is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every requirement listed. The company does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic and may consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records where allowed by law.
Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process. Candidates who need an accommodation or assistance because of a disability or disability-related need should contact their recruiter. This includes qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
