Job description
About the company
Notion is a connected AI workspace designed to help teams and agents plan, collaborate, and build together. It brings knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI capabilities into one place so work feels quicker, clearer, and less scattered. People across all company sizes use Notion to run their day-to-day work.
Employees at Notion, called Notinos, are expected to be the first users of the product and help shape the future of work. The company values craftsmanship, durable work, and the idea that meaningful work remains fundamentally human. Rather than focusing on shipping features for their own sake, teams aim to set a high bar for how people collaborate in the AI era, from operating a company’s system of record to creating and managing AI agents and reducing repetitive work.
Role overview
Notion is hiring an Early Career Recruiter to rethink what early career hiring can become. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building from the ground up, designing programs and candidate experiences that do not yet exist, and treating employer brand, candidate experience, and assessment design as creative challenges in an AI-driven world.
You will lead Notion’s early career strategy end to end with a strong team of partners. That includes shaping how the company reaches talent communities, how it evaluates potential, how it develops early talent, and how it converts interns and new graduates into future Notinos. The role works closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Sales, and People teams.
This role may be based in San Francisco or New York City. The company works from the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays as anchor days and expects the person in this role to be present with the team on those days.
What you will do
- Build and run a standout early career recruiting motion, including internships, new graduate pipelines, and 0-2 year-from-school hiring tracks that are scalable, durable, and true to Notion.
- Explore new ways to identify talent beyond standard campus recruiting, including communities, hackathons, open-source spaces, AI-enabled sourcing tools, and outreach that meets candidates where they already are.
- Create assessment approaches that go beyond traditional interview loops and surface how early career candidates think, learn, and create.
- Help strengthen Notion’s employer brand by partnering with Communications, Design, and People to tell a compelling story about launching a career at Notion across channels, events, and candidate touchpoints.
- Coach hiring managers and interviewers so they can evaluate early career candidates with fairness, nuance, and high standards.
What we are looking for
- At least 2 years of recruiting experience, with substantial exposure to early career, university, or program-based hiring.
- A strong builder mindset and a preference for creating new systems rather than maintaining existing ones.
- Real curiosity about finding and assessing emerging talent, along with a habit of testing new sourcing methods, evaluation styles, and candidate engagement ideas.
- Strong instincts around employer branding and candidate experience, including how every interaction shapes trust and perception.
- The ability to move smoothly between strategy and hands-on execution.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with candidates, hiring teams, and cross-functional partners.
- Comfort working with data to make decisions, identify trends, and support recommendations.
Nice to have
- Experience building or contributing to an early career program from the ground up.
- Hands-on experimentation with unconventional sourcing or evaluation methods, plus the ability to explain what you learned.
- Deep familiarity with the early career landscape for engineering and technical hiring.
- Personal experience using Notion and enthusiasm for the product and mission.
Compensation and benefits
Notion offers competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. Final pay depends on factors such as location, scope of the role, and the candidate’s background and expertise. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the expected base salary range is $135,000 to $151,000 per year.
Application and privacy notice
By submitting an application, you agree that Notion and its affiliates and subsidiaries may collect and process your information in line with Notion’s Global Recruiting Privacy Policy and NYLL 144.
AI at Notion
Notion expects employees to be intellectually curious, comfortable experimenting, and willing to use AI as a practical collaborator. Some roles require stronger AI fluency, and when that is essential it will be stated directly in the qualifications. People who succeed at Notion use AI to think more effectively and to create work that others can build on.
Equal opportunity and accommodations
Notion welcomes applicants from many backgrounds and encourages people to apply even if they do not match every qualification. The company is an equal opportunity employer and does not make employment decisions based on any legally protected characteristic. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records may be considered where allowed by law. Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process and for qualified individuals with disabilities or disabled veterans; candidates can let the recruiter know if support is needed.
