Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Manager in Abu Dhabi for a real estate development environment. In this position, you will take ownership of technical submittals from contractors and consultants, checking that they meet project specifications, design intent, and applicable regulatory standards. The role is central to protecting quality, buildability, and technical correctness throughout the project lifecycle.

Core Responsibilities

  • Examine and sign off on contractor technical packages such as shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical data sheets.
  • Confirm that all documents align with approved drawings, project specifications, and relevant local authority rules.
  • Liaise with consultants, architects, and engineers to secure approvals and close out technical mismatches.
  • Share precise remarks, markups, and response notes within set deadlines.
  • Handle RFIs and technical clarifications between the contractor and the design team.
  • Keep design intent aligned with what is built on site.
  • Assist site teams in solving technical challenges during construction.
  • Check through coordination and inspections that approved submittals are correctly executed on site.
  • Track contractor adherence to approved materials, drawings, and specifications.
  • Organize and update logs for submissions, approvals, and rejections.
  • Follow submission progress closely and ensure reviews are completed on time to prevent delays.
  • Spot technical risks, inconsistencies, or missing details in contractor submissions and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE building regulations, authority requirements, and quality benchmarks.
  • Compile technical reports and progress updates for internal teams and management.

Qualifications and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline is required. The ideal candidate should bring 15 or more years of experience in real estate development or construction, with a strong background in reviewing contractor submissions and shop drawings.
