Role overview
This position is for a Team Leader in Human Resources Operations at Tata Consultancy Services in Bengaluru. The role centers on end-to-end payroll execution, quality control, customer coordination, reporting, and team leadership across global payroll environments.
Key experience and background
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or bring equivalent practical experience. A total of 10 to 14 years of experience is required in payroll systems, payroll processing, and/or HRIS platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Deel, SAP, Workday, or similar tools.
Hands-on exposure to ADP Global View and Celegro is mandatory. The role also requires prior payroll processing experience across the US, UK, and Middle East, along with global payroll knowledge spanning UAE, Saudi Arabia, US, Canada, LATAM, Europe, UK, APAC, and ASEAN regions.
Core responsibilities
The selected candidate will be expected to process and review payroll end to end, ensuring completion with strong attention to detail. The role involves understanding operational workflows, driving efficient incident handling, monitoring team performance, balancing workloads, and stepping in as an escalation point to maintain a strong customer service experience.
Additional responsibilities include leading quality-control activities across the full process, training team members on process controls, acting as the main contact between internal teams and customers, and resolving or escalating risks, issues, and decisions as needed. The position also requires preparing monthly SLA reports, dashboards, and other operational reporting.
Skills and capability requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication is essential, along with the ability to deliver clear, engaging, and well-structured presentations. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, management capability, and the ability to work effectively with business, HR, and IT leaders. Strong critical thinking is also important.
A solid understanding of payroll legislation, tax rules, and compliance requirements is considered an added advantage. Knowledge of ADP and Celegro tools is required.
