Team Leader - Data Management

Role overview

This position leads the upkeep of product data across the full lifecycle for central and division-level products in ERP and PIM environments. The role works under guidance from the Master Data Manager GEIS EMEAI in Europe and the Manager – Data Management based in Pondicherry, while also supervising local PIM and ERP data stewards within the GEIS team.

The Team Leader is accountable for coordinating teams handling Product Data, Customer Data, Power BI, and Bidman. The focus is on aligning their output with business goals and data governance expectations, improving operational performance, and ensuring data is delivered accurately and on time across all areas. The role also supports team capability building through training, best-practice sharing, and ongoing skill development.

As a coordination hub, this person helps teams communicate effectively, simplifies workflows, and strengthens the dependability and efficiency of data operations. A key outcome of the role is maintaining the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Eaton’s product master data to support the balanced scorecard work for the divisions within Eaton’s Electrical Sector EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Create product data scorecards and dashboards for ES-EMEA using Power BI.
• Support projects and conduct ad hoc analysis based on business needs.
• Assess the impact of system or process changes.
• Use data quality tools to evaluate data for quality improvements and harmonization.
• Assist with UAT and CRP testing for new implementations, SAP migration work, and SAP enhancement projects.
• Identify gaps, work with colleagues across divisions to close them, and improve the data quality percentage.
• Perform root-cause analysis when needed and recommend practical solutions.
• Understand how interfaces work and how data moves between systems.
• Prepare detailed master data reports and support the product data analytics specialist with metric generation.
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process flow charts, and swimlane diagrams.
• Build and refine Power BI reports based on requirements.
• Coordinate with the lead data steward on new process rollouts and data enrichment activities in ERP due to regional policy updates.
• Work with technical teams to implement ERP and PIM changes as required by LDS or business needs.
• Monitor system interfaces and update mapping tables with new values according to procedure.
• Move items between ERP systems to support sales synergy across platforms.
• Improve data lifecycle processes with support from the central MDM team.
• Share updates with local organizations that use non-integrated standalone ERP systems.
• Govern interface reports generated from master data interfaces.
• Provide guidance and solutions to divisions on master data-related issues.

Qualifications and experience

The role requires an engineering degree, preferably BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical engineering. Candidates should have 6 to 9 years of proven experience with SAP and PDH, along with hands-on exposure to data analytics tools such as MS Power BI and Cloudera.
