Job description

Role overview

Moore Ireland is expanding its tax practice and is hiring a Tax Manager focused on compliance. The position sits within a high-performing tax team and is suited to someone who can deliver precise tax compliance work for mainly domestic clients, while also gaining exposure to cross-border work and multinational structures. The opportunity offers strong career growth and can be based in Cork, Galway, Dublin, or Dún Laoghaire.

Key responsibilities

  • Run a portfolio of corporate tax compliance assignments and make sure filings and obligations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Check and sign off on work produced by junior colleagues to maintain quality standards.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients on compliance issues, including the effects of tax law updates and replies to Revenue correspondence.
  • Carry out technical tax research on compliance and related advisory matters, including new and changing tax legislation.
  • Coordinate with colleagues across teams to provide smooth, efficient service to clients.
  • Coach and guide junior staff through mentoring, feedback, on-the-job support, and involvement in performance reviews.
  • Help improve compliance workflows and support the use of tax technology and transformation initiatives.
  • Support working capital management, including WIP, billing, and collections, in line with team targets.
  • Assist with corporate tax consulting work for Irish and international clients as the role develops.

Requirements

  • CTA qualification is required; an accounting qualification would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in tax compliance, ideally gained in professional services.
  • Strong working knowledge of corporate tax rules, including Group Loss Relief, Start-Up Reliefs, R&D Tax Credits, Capital Allowances for Intangible Assets, and Foreign Tax Credit Relief.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisation, and project coordination abilities.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering a high standard of service.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with a practical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Interest in process improvement and tax technology will be an advantage.

What the employer offers

  • Competitive pay and benefits.
  • Strong work-life balance.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Clear opportunities for career development and advancement.
  • In-house learning, training, and CPD support.
  • Mentoring, ongoing review, and regular feedback.
  • A supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Active social and wellness initiatives.
  • Access to a global professional network spanning more than 30,000 people across 110+ countries.
