Job description
Position Overview
Newfields is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead recruitment activities and support hiring across the organization. This role is central to attracting and hiring a diverse and qualified team that aligns with Newfields’ mission and values, especially emphasizing equity and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment for various roles within departments such as curatorial, education, visitor services, development, and operations.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to assess workforce needs and develop tailored recruitment strategies.
- Create and post inclusive, precise job descriptions that align with organizational goals.
- Source candidates using a broad array of channels including art communities, educational institutions, and local organizations.
- Conduct applicant screening and coordinate interview scheduling.
- Manage hiring workflow and assist in candidate selection processes.
- Perform reference checks and participate in offer formulation.
- Act as the main contact for candidates during recruitment stages, enhancing their experience.
- Represent Newfields at recruitment fairs, networking events, and community outreach programs.
- Contribute to promoting Newfields as a preferred employer within the arts and nonprofit fields.
- Work alongside HR colleagues to ensure effective onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Facilitate a seamless transfer from hiring to onboarding.
- Provide recruitment-related training support to hiring managers.
- Ensure adherence to relevant employment laws and regulations in recruitment activities.
- Maintain detailed recruiting records in the applicant tracking system and prepare reports analyzing recruitment metrics to optimize processes.
- Assist with HR projects connected to workforce planning, internships, fellowships, and seasonal hiring.
- Keep abreast of trends in talent acquisition specific to museums, arts, and nonprofit sectors.
- Support HR by acting as backup for HRIS data management to ensure accurate employee records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Arts Administration, or related discipline.
- Between three to five years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment, ideally within nonprofit, museum, cultural, or arts organizations.
- Strong familiarity with full recruitment lifecycle best practices and employment law compliance.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders.
- High organizational aptitude and keen attention to detail.
Desired Attributes
- Experience hiring for specialized or creative roles such as curatorial, education, conservation, or design positions.
- Hands-on knowledge of applicant tracking systems and HRIS software; UKG experience is advantageous.
- Proven dedication to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion principles.
