Job description

Role overview

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is looking for a Talent Acquisition Sourcer at Level 3 to strengthen recruiting efforts across engineering and other business functions. This role supports hiring for a mission-driven organization working on space systems, national defense, and scientific innovation. The position may be remote, though preference is given to candidates located near major Space Sector sites.

This opportunity sits within a collaborative talent acquisition team that values curiosity, adaptability, and strong candidate engagement. The sourcer will help shape hiring strategy, improve recruiting effectiveness, and build relationships with passive and active talent in a competitive market.

Work conditions and compliance

No relocation support is available. Clearance is not required to start, but the role requires the ability to obtain and keep a U.S. Government Secret clearance. The listed clearance type is Secret. Travel is expected for about 10% of working time.

What you will do

  • Deliver sourcing support for engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other functional groups by identifying, screening, and managing candidate pipelines in partnership with recruiters.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment while consistently providing high-quality talent acquisition support.
  • Source and engage qualified candidates while maintaining strong service levels for hiring managers, candidates, and internal stakeholders.
  • Work with recruiters and hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create targeted sourcing plans.
  • Support recruiting events, invitation-only hiring events, and specialized career fairs.
  • Attract cleared professionals and maintain working knowledge of security clearance requirements.
  • Keep candidate records accurate and up to date in the talent database.
  • Use a business-oriented mindset to support staffing decisions and recruiting strategy.
  • Study market conditions and competitor trends to guide hiring and position marketing.
  • Connect talent acquisition with broader talent lifecycle areas such as development, retention, and culture.
  • Use data and market insight to build and carry out staffing approaches.
  • Leverage professional networks and online sourcing channels to find talent for open roles.
  • Use social media, search tools, Boolean methods, niche job boards, and sourcing platforms to uncover both active and passive candidates.
  • Promote employer brand messaging through online communities and networking spaces.
  • Track daily sourcing activity through CRM tools and candidate management systems.
  • Report sourcing metrics and findings in regular discussions with hiring managers and TA leadership.
  • Mine social and digital platforms extensively to identify strong candidate profiles.
  • Conduct phone screens to evaluate fit and maintain ongoing contact with promising candidates.
  • Build a solid understanding of the business, programs, technology landscape, and culture.
  • Assess applicants for cultural alignment, capability, and skill match through phone or in-person interaction.
  • Synthesize feedback from candidates and hiring managers quickly and clearly.
  • Pre-close candidates early in the process to improve acceptance rates.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing or full-cycle recruiting, or a Master’s degree plus at least 3 years of similar experience.
  • Alternatively, 4 additional years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Experience sourcing technical talent across engineering disciplines such as systems, software, mechanical, electrical, and aerospace, as well as non-technical areas including business, production, operations, and supply chain.
  • Background sourcing cleared candidates.
  • Hands-on experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or comparable sourcing tools.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.

Preferred background

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense sector, with the ability to identify relevant skills, target employers, and user communities.
  • Active participation in social and digital recruiting spaces.
  • Experience in both agency and corporate recruiting environments.
  • Exposure to Workday or a similar applicant tracking system, along with Eightfold.

Compensation and benefits

The posted base salary range is USD 81,400 to USD 141,200 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on the scope of the role, candidate background, education, skills, and market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may receive overtime pay, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus. Annual bonuses may reward individual contributions and company performance. Vice President and Director roles may also qualify for long-term incentives. Benefits include medical coverage, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid company holidays, and paid time off for vacation and/or personal business.
