About the role
This senior executive leads the strategy for commercial technology across Disney Experiences. The portfolio includes theme parks, resorts, cruise, vacation, travel, retail, and consumer businesses. The role is responsible for shaping how technology supports revenue growth, guest engagement, and operating performance across a connected ecosystem of products, platforms, and customer touchpoints.
What you'll do
You will own the financial and operating performance of Commercial Technology and guide the strategy for platforms and solutions used across Disney Experiences for sales, distribution, pricing, inventory, and guest commerce journeys. The role includes leadership over multiple Director and Vice President level leaders and their teams, plus responsibility for solving complex organizational and business challenges with scalable technology approaches.
- Build and keep evolving a segment-wide technology roadmap for commercial platforms that supports both near-term and long-range business priorities across parks, resorts, cruise, vacation, and consumer offerings.
- Carry primary responsibility for financial results, including budgeting, investment decisions, and value delivery across business lines and regions.
- Develop and support a strong leadership group, setting clear expectations, coaching regularly, and encouraging a culture rooted in growth, inclusion, and authentic leadership.
- Communicate a clear and energizing technology vision that creates alignment, optimism, and shared purpose across teams and stakeholders.
- Translate business goals into practical technology outcomes and help teams execute against those priorities effectively.
- Address complicated business and organizational issues by promoting innovative, scalable solutions that fit enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.
- Work closely with senior business and technology leaders to align investments with segment and enterprise roadmaps and ensure solutions remain platform-focused and guest-centered.
- Encourage a coaching culture and open communication that supports feedback, collaboration, and career development for leaders and their teams.
- Set an example of care and compassion, creating an environment where Disney values are lived every day and every voice is respected.
- Keep the organization operating with financial discipline, thoughtful risk management, strong reliability, and ongoing improvement.
Required qualifications
- Executive-level experience leading large technology organizations with ownership of commercial, commerce, or revenue-generating platforms in complex matrixed environments.
- Strong strategic thinking and business judgment, especially within travel, hospitality, retail, or consumer-oriented industries.
- Demonstrated success creating and executing multi-year technology plans that produce measurable financial and operational results.
- Deep financial responsibility, including budgets, investment portfolios, and the performance of technology teams, business units, or regions.
- Proven people leadership skills, including leading executives and multi-layer leadership teams while building inclusive, high-trust cultures.
- Excellent influencing and communication ability, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and presenting complex technology and finance topics to executive audiences.
- Experience delivering highly integrated, scalable, resilient, mission-critical solutions across diverse technology environments.
- Comfort working through ambiguity and change while setting priorities and driving execution across globally distributed teams.
- At least 15 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, including more than 7 years leading managers and senior leaders in large organizations.
Education
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline is required. An advanced degree such as an MBA or a relevant technical master’s is preferred, especially with emphasis on technology management, strategy, or finance.
Preferred background
- Executive experience in commerce platforms and products, including pricing and inventory, for large consumer or guest-facing experiences.
- Exposure to travel, hospitality, theme parks, or cruise businesses, with knowledge of blending digital and physical guest experiences.
- Experience leading teams that use modern architecture patterns such as APIs, microservices, event-driven designs, and large-scale cloud platforms.
