About The Role

Mercy Hospital Dunedin is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their housekeeping team as Support Services Assistants. The primary focus of this role is to uphold stringent cleaning and hygiene standards throughout the hospital. This is a permanent, full-time position, equivalent to 40 hours per week, operating on a rotating roster. Key responsibilities include ensuring consistent adherence to hospital cleaning protocols in assigned areas, managing the collection, transfer, and disposal of hospital waste according to best practices, maintaining sufficient stock of cleaning supplies, and providing fresh linen to patients as needed. Depending on the specific duties, there may also be a requirement to assist with the safe transportation of patients.

Skills and Experience

While prior experience in a similar support services role is advantageous, it is not a mandatory requirement for this position. Successful candidates will possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities, demonstrate a capacity for teamwork, and maintain a professional and positive demeanor. An enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable approach to work is highly valued.
