About the Role
Abnex is expanding its manufacturing operations in Houston and seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Specialist to join the team. This role focuses on ensuring timely availability of materials to support production schedules and meet customer commitments efficiently. The position requires collaborating closely with suppliers, production, and other internal departments to maintain smooth material flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing processes for raw materials, components, and operational supplies.
- Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor purchase orders and expedite delivery of urgent materials as required.
- Keep track of inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production demands.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records within the ERP system.
- Evaluate supplier performance and address any delivery challenges.
- Work in partnership with Operations, Production Planning, Customer Service, Receiving, and Finance teams to facilitate on-schedule production and deliveries.
- Engage in continuous improvement projects tied to purchasing and inventory management.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, inventory management, or manufacturing-related roles.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Proficiency with ERP software systems.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and communication capabilities.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or similar fields.
- Experience managing inventory control and supplier relations.
- Certifications such as APICS or CPIM are advantageous.
