Job description
Overview
This role calls for an experienced and driven Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing efforts and manage the supply chain for Fastener and Joining Technologies across Tesla's vehicle, energy, battery, and humanoid robotics programs. You will report to the Supply Chain Group Manager and collaborate closely with multiple engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee RFQs and contract negotiations ensuring NDAs, terms, and pricing agreements are properly established prior to commencing work.
- Lead negotiations on pricing and tooling to achieve top-tier commodity costs aligned with supplier industrialization and continuous cost containment.
- Manage all Fastener supply chain aspects including commodity strategies, market evaluation, technology tracking, cost modeling, and sourcing approaches.
- Keep updated on global industry and technology trends, coordinating with Design teams to proactively identify and mitigate supply risks.
- Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate performance through dispute handling, scorecards, and regular business reviews.
- Participate in manufacturability reviews with engineering and suppliers to influence cost-effective design decisions.
- Interpret technical drawings/specifications and possess foundational knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes within the commodity domain.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum three years in procurement or a related sourcing capacity.
- Proficient understanding of sourcing cycles including RFI, RFQ, purchase orders, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles related to Fasteners and ability to estimate costs based on manufacturing processes.
- Technical awareness of tooling and metal/plastic forming manufacturing methods.
- Comfortable adapting quickly within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary ranges from $84,000 to $156,000, complemented by cash incentives, stock awards, and comprehensive benefits effective from day one.
