Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a holistic supply chain strategy that supports company objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams in procurement, logistics, production planning, and inventory management.
- Manage sourcing of raw materials and packaging, ensuring compliance with quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain adherence to food safety regulations including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GFSI.
- Optimize inventory to balance demand requirements while avoiding excess or shortages.
- Collaborate with departments such as production, quality assurance, research and development, and sales to ensure uninterrupted product delivery.
- Evaluate and deploy supply chain technologies and systems to improve process efficiency and traceability.
- Track and report key performance indicators to senior leadership.
- Oversee vendor partnerships and negotiate contracts to enhance cost savings and reliability.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to manage supply chain disruptions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a similar field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in supply chain or operations management, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the food or beverage manufacturing sector.
- Proficient knowledge of ERP/MRP software such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements within the food industry.
- Strong track record in demand planning, procurement strategies, and logistics optimization.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities.
- Effective negotiation skills and communication proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications like APICS or CSCMP.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish considered advantageous.
