Job description

General Summary

This is an entry-level position within the supply chain department, focused on supporting the daily operations to ensure the efficient and timely movement of products, materials, and data. The role involves fundamental purchasing tasks, processing orders, monitoring shipments, managing item creation, and maintaining data integrity across various systems. This position adheres to established procedures, escalates issues as necessary, and contributes to the team by ensuring operational tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to consistent execution.

Job Duties

  • Purchasing & Order Processing: Generate and process purchase orders, transfers, and other related transactions within the ERP system. Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and update order details. Monitor outstanding orders and follow up on routine status inquiries.
  • Logistics & Shipment Tracking: Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, updating delivery statuses. Communicate shipment progress to internal stakeholders. Coordinate deliveries with warehouses and vendors.
  • Item & Data Maintenance: Assist in the creation of new items, product setup, and item updates. Ensure the accuracy of item master and vendor data within company systems. Review data for completeness and correctness.
  • Operational Support: Support inventory-related transactions, including receipts and adjustments. Maintain comprehensive documentation and records for all supply chain activities. Escalate any discrepancies, delays, or system-related issues to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Possess 0-2 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or administrative support roles.
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Prior exposure to ERP and WMS systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma principles is a plus but not required.
