Job description

Role overview

This 12-month contract is based in Citywest, Dublin and sits within an External Manufacturing team operating across Europe and international markets. The role is in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and medical/healthcare space. It is focused on supplier coordination rather than traditional planning, with an emphasis on acting as the main point of contact between internal teams and external manufacturing partners.

You will help keep supplier interactions, transactions, and daily workflows moving efficiently in a tightly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with external manufacturing partners and contract manufacturers.
  • Handle routine supplier communication and support the resolution of operational issues.
  • Raise, track, and close purchase orders and supplier-related transactions.
  • Assist with invoice follow-up and work with suppliers and finance teams to clear transaction issues.
  • Coordinate tasks across Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Labelling, and Finance teams.
  • Escalate supplier performance concerns and help drive them through to resolution.
  • Keep supplier records, supporting documents, and ERP data accurate and up to date.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement work within the external manufacturing network.
  • Carry out duties in line with internal procedures and compliance expectations.

Required experience and skills

  • Background in Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Management, External Manufacturing, or Operations.
  • Proven experience handling supplier relationships and stakeholder communication.
  • Practical exposure to purchase orders, invoices, procurement activity, or supplier administration.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.
  • Strong planning, organization, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capability to juggle several priorities and see issues through to closure.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, with strong relationship-building skills.

Preferred background

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing settings.
  • Previous exposure to contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs/CDMOs).
  • Understanding of outsourced manufacturing operating models.
  • Experience collaborating with Quality, Regulatory, Finance, or Manufacturing teams across functions.

Candidate profile

The ideal person is collaborative, dependable, flexible, and keen to develop. You should enjoy working with both internal colleagues and external partners, and feel comfortable in a fast-moving, team-based environment where communication and relationship management are essential.
