About the Role

This role seeks a Superintendent of Training and Development who will play a pivotal role in designing, overseeing, and implementing a robust training strategy aligned with the company’s goals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and manage a comprehensive training and development strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Design leadership growth programs for both emerging and established leaders, ensuring alignment with succession planning and business needs.
  • Organize coaching, mentoring, and leadership evaluation activities.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of leadership programs and suggest improvements through collaboration with various departments.
  • Engage stakeholders to obtain formal accreditation for learning programs as required on-site.
  • Prepare detailed statistical reports supporting management decision-making.
  • Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS), training databases, and reporting tools to facilitate smooth training delivery and monitoring.
  • Develop and administer e-learning modules, virtual classrooms, and digital learning assets to enhance accessibility and flexibility.
  • Incorporate modern learning technologies, gamification methods, and blended learning approaches to increase engagement.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to design new programs or enhance existing ones.
  • Draft and enforce policies, procedures, and talent frameworks that promote workforce development and company growth.
  • Evaluate and manage employee induction programs for effectiveness.
  • Lead organizational change management initiatives related to transformation projects.
  • Support corporate culture development initiatives promoting high performance.
  • Manage succession planning processes for critical and leadership roles, identifying high-potential staff and creating career pipelines.
  • Conduct talent reviews and succession planning meetings with business leaders regularly.
  • Develop career progression frameworks and pathways to encourage internal mobility and career advancement.
  • Coordinate career development efforts to boost employee retention and engagement.
  • Support recognition programs linked to career development to enhance employee loyalty.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 8 to 10 years of experience in training, professional development, or instructional leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success managing LMS and e-learning systems.
  • Proven ability designing and implementing impactful training programs.
  • Solid grounding in adult learning theories, instructional design, and performance evaluations.
  • Familiarity with both conventional and contemporary training methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR, Organizational Development, Instructional Technology or related disciplines; mandatory ZAQA accreditation.
  • Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Mandatory Zambian Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) certification.
