Job description

Role overview

This position is for an Assistant Manager at Subway in Bordertown. The role focuses on supporting the Store Manager with everyday store operations and helping keep service, standards, and efficiency at a high level. A key part of the job is creating a positive guest experience that encourages repeat visits.

Main duties

  • Deliver strong customer service while handling the store’s daily operational tasks efficiently.
  • Support onboarding and training so new team members have a positive start.
  • Keep track of stock, minimise product waste, and manage incoming deliveries.
  • Help ensure health and safety expectations are consistently maintained.
  • Assist with rostering and workforce planning.
  • Contribute ideas and plans to improve sales and enhance the customer experience.

Skills and experience

  • Prior experience in retail or hospitality is required.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred, though not essential.
  • Ability to guide and support a team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfort working well with others as part of a team.
  • Good organisation and the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
