Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Trivandrum for a Student Counselor. The role centers on advising students and their families individually, assessing academic history and career ambitions, and suggesting suitable countries, universities, and programs.

Key Duties

  • Provide personalized counseling to students and parents, taking into account academic profiles and future goals.
  • Recommend appropriate study destinations, universities, and academic programs.
  • Support applicants with admissions steps, required documents, eligibility criteria, and visa-related procedures.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of conversations, applications, and student progress.
  • Make regular follow-up calls to prospective students.
  • Arrange information sessions and workshops.
  • Work with team members to improve counseling resources and supporting materials.
  • Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all students.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Prior experience in student counseling is required.
  • Strong advisory ability with a talent for understanding student goals and offering practical, personalized recommendations.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and confident presentation.
  • Professional phone and email etiquette.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills for record keeping, scheduling, and document handling.
  • Working knowledge of international education systems, admissions workflows, and visa procedures for destinations such as the UK, Ireland, USA, France, Latvia, Malta, Germany, and Spain.
  • Comfortable using computers, CRM systems, and online communication tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, adjust to changing needs, and follow ethical, non-discriminatory counseling practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; backgrounds in education, counseling, psychology, or related areas are preferred.
