Job description
Role overview
Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is progressing toward Brisbane 2032 and beyond, with a focus on building on Queensland athletes’ recent Olympic and Paralympic success and creating more podium results through to Los Angeles 2028 and the home Games in 2032. The organisation is looking for a driven, values-led professional who thrives in high-performance sport, embraces ongoing improvement, and wants to contribute to a transformational environment.
This position supports categorised athletes together with the QAS Strength & Conditioning team and also takes responsibility for the daily running of the Recovery Centre. The role is designed for an early-career practitioner who wants to build strength and conditioning capability within a high-performance setting.

- Work alongside the Strength and Conditioning team to deliver targeted performance testing and athlete monitoring, then share timely feedback with coaches, athletes, and Performance Support staff.
- Record, maintain, store, and distribute athlete data and video through the Athlete Management System (AMS) and other approved systems in line with QAS procedures.
- Carry out the administrative and operational tasks needed to keep the QAS Recovery Centre functioning effectively, including supervising athlete use of the wet therapy room and other facilities during rostered shifts while maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming space.
- Apply and oversee wet therapy procedures and facility standards, ensuring the area remains clean, safe, and operational, and raising issues with the relevant QAS staff when needed.
Essential requirements
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Degree in Human Movement, Coaching, Exercise, or Sports Science.
- Current CPR certification, either Provide or Perform CPR.
- Level 2 Strength & Conditioning Coach qualification.

- Valid driver’s licence.
- Completion of Sports Integrity Australia Antidoping Fundamentals and the annual update.
