Job description
About the company
Corner Health is an early-stage technology business creating the operating layer for independent primary care. The platform equips Nurse Practitioners with the tools they need to launch and manage their own practices, including billing, insurance infrastructure, and AI-driven workflow automation. The company says it is on track to become the fastest-growing in-person primary care business ever and was co-founded by Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford. It has raised a Series A from leading investors, including founders associated with DoorDash, Commure, Grow Therapy, Kindred, Culdesac, and others.
About the role
This position is a Strategy & Operations Lead working side by side with the cofounders on the company’s most important priorities. The role is broad and hands-on, combining strategy, execution, and systems design. You will help define how Corner Health scales by launching new business lines, improving operating models, and opening new ways for providers and patients to interact with the business.
Corner Health is building a different model of care: a network of local, independent, in-person primary care practices supported by modern technology. The company reports that 88% of patients prefer a provider powered by Corner Health over alternatives, and that patients return at twice the national average. The business believes this creates room for expansion through follow-up care, longitudinal programs, longevity offerings, cash-pay and wellness products, stronger retention loops, and new patient engagement models.
This is presented as one of the most high-impact roles in the company.
What you will do
- Lead company-wide strategic work across product, operations, and growth.
- Take new business ideas from concept to launch, including wellness offerings, cash-pay services, longitudinal care programs, and fresh patient engagement approaches.
- Create and improve operating systems that raise efficiency, quality, and provider outcomes.
- Design and run 0-to-1 tests to evaluate opportunities and speed up learning.
- Review business results and turn them into insights that guide decisions.
- Work closely with product, engineering, operations, and growth teams so initiatives are successfully implemented.
- Build repeatable playbooks that convert winning experiments into scalable systems across the network.
- Collaborate directly with providers to understand needs, trial ideas, and create measurable P&L impact.
- Take ownership of special projects that are important but do not fit neatly into another team’s scope.
- Bring structure to uncertain situations and move initiatives from idea to delivery.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate is a hard-working, kind, and curious generalist who enjoys solving unclear problems. You should be comfortable shifting between strategy and execution, and able to work confidently with founders and senior leaders. The team is looking for someone who can design systems rather than only operate processes, and who is excited to engage with providers and understand the realities of care delivery.
The role calls for 4-6 years of experience in a strong-performance environment such as an early-stage startup, top consulting firm, high-growth operations team, or a similar setting. Candidates should already be based in Los Angeles or be open to relocating, as the role is in person in Santa Monica.
What would make you stand out
Experience in health tech or healthcare operations would be an advantage. So would having built or scaled something from the ground up, especially in a 0-to-1 context. The company also values interest in helping independent medical providers succeed, curiosity about wellness and longevity trends paired with an evidence-based mindset, and a strong commitment to building a service patients genuinely trust.
Benefits
- Competitive pay plus equity compensation.
- Top-tier medical and dental coverage.
- Health and wellness stipend.
- Eligibility for the company-sponsored 401(k) plan.
Team culture
Corner Health describes itself as a small, early-stage team with a high level of ownership and autonomy. The team is motivated by the providers they work with and the patient lives they help improve. They celebrate provider milestones, positive patient feedback, and quick shipping cycles, including one feature request that went live in 12 minutes. The company uses strong tools to move quickly and make a direct impact on health outcomes. One of its values is, “Life is short - it’s OK to laugh,” and the team says it enjoys working hard while also having fun through dinners, mini golf, and collaborative brainstorming.
Equal opportunity and hiring process note
Corner Health states that it is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. It also considers applicants with criminal histories as allowed by applicable law.
The company also notes that it may use artificial intelligence tools during hiring to support tasks such as application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and detection of possible inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools assist the recruiting team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
