About the Role

The Strategy and Operations Lead contributes to uniting teams across Google's diverse functions to drive optimal execution of products. This role is central to scaling Google's products and infrastructure through efficient execution, astute business judgment, and effective collaboration across various organizational lines. Responsibilities include strategy formulation, operations management, and fostering cross-functional communications. The position involves partnering with senior leadership to manage cross-cutting functions and deliver impactful projects that assist Engineers, Product Managers, UX teams, and others in building superior products for users.

The Core team, which this role supports, is responsible for the technical foundation behind Google's key products, including essential design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. The team influences pivotal technical decisions across Google and breaks down technical barriers, promoting innovation and consistency in user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Core strategy and operations initiatives by managing long-term and annual strategy planning, translating overarching goals into actionable plans that enable product teams to innovate effectively at scale.
  • Serve as a liaison across technical teams to advance Core's strategic priorities.
  • Analyze extensive data sets to generate insights that shape key investment and trade-off decisions.
  • Handle complex, ambiguous strategic projects by framing issues, proposing alternative solutions, and driving consensus on future directions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 11 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics within a technology company.
  • Proven experience working with data analysis and managing multiple cross-functional programs or projects simultaneously.
  • Experience collaborating with data, analytics, and technical teams to identify problems and implement solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with analytical tools such as R, SQL, or spreadsheets.
  • Prior experience in the AI industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

Compensation is determined by factors including relevant skills, experience, and education. The US salary range for this role is $176,000 to $257,000 annually, complemented by a 20% bonus target, equity incentives, and benefits.
