About the RoleWe are seeking a Strategic Partner Manager to join our Retail Team, responsible for overseeing relationships with retailers onboarded onto the Instacart platform. This position involves driving critical business insights, recommending scalable growth strategies, implementing new operational processes, managing client needs, coordinating key internal and external stakeholders, and promoting new offerings and opportunities.
About the TeamYou will be part of the Retail Business Development team, a crucial department at Instacart dedicated to cultivating and strengthening partnerships with retailers across North America. This team's innovative approaches and dynamic industry relationships are instrumental in shaping our market presence and commercial achievements.
Job Responsibilities- Onboard new retail partners and manage ongoing relationships with existing Instacart retail clients.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Instacart's operational framework, including internal procedures, functional strategies, and the competitive landscape.
- Formulate strategic plans tailored to meet the specific needs of retail partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute strategic plans and achieve objectives within demanding timelines.
- Oversee the launch process for new partners, including catalog setup, marketing and public relations, and operational readiness.
- Conduct data analysis to generate key business insights, identify opportunities for scalable growth, and create detailed execution roadmaps.
- Establish efficient processes and reporting mechanisms to optimize team operations and enhance retailer relationships.
- Create and implement strategies to foster business growth for retail partners on the Instacart platform.
- Engage, educate, collaborate, and resolve issues with external partners at all organizational levels.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in account management. An MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exceptional communication abilities, with a talent for simplifying complex issues.
- Proven experience working with large datasets and deriving actionable business insights from analysis.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and a rapidly changing business environment.
- Proficient stakeholder management skills, encompassing both internal and external parties.
- Prompt and effective communication response times.
- Ability to manage cross-functional initiatives and present effectively to leadership.
- A creative and structured approach to problem-solving.
- Experience in negotiating complex deals with retail, CPG, or other commerce-focused partnerships to drive revenue.
- A high degree of business acumen and a solid understanding of diverse partner business models.
- An inventive, self-motivated individual with creative problem-solving skills, capable of managing multiple time-sensitive projects concurrently and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding presentation and deck-building skills, with the ability to craft concise, structured presentations suitable for executive audiences.

Instacart offers highly competitive compensation and benefits packages tailored to each employee's work location. This role is remote, and the base salary range is contingent upon the candidate's permanent work location. For US-based candidates, the base pay ranges are as follows:
- CA, NY, CT, NJ: $161,000—$170,000 USD
- WA: $155,000—$163,000 USD
- OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $148,000—$156,000 USD
- All other states: $134,000—$142,000 USD
