Job description
Role overview
Amey is hiring an on-site Stores Person for HMP Swansea. This position supports a justice-sector client by making sure supplies are available for the maintenance team and that prisoners receive the items they need during their stay.
Working pattern and pay
The role is based on 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with an early finish every Friday. The annual salary is £27,426.
Key duties
- Distribute stock such as clothing to prisoners in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate stock records and track items handed out.
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to avoid shortages.
- Handle movement of stock, including lifting heavier items.
- Keep the stores area tidy, organised and clean.
- Follow health and safety requirements throughout the contract.
- Prepare items for courier collection and dispatch them safely.
- Pick up goods locally when required.
- Help support local and business initiatives aimed at achieving net zero carbon goals.
What the role requires
- A focus on efficiency and a willingness to make a positive contribution.
- Confidence working in a role with direct prisoner contact.
- Good IT skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to personal transport.
Clearance and recruitment notes
