Role Overview
This position focuses on end-to-end stores and warehouse control for project materials and plant-related supplies. The role involves receipt verification, safe handling, SAP-based material movement, inventory discipline, preservation of shelf-life items, and compliance with audit and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage gate entry, verify incoming documents, and carry out physical checks and acceptance or rejection of materials.
- Oversee unloading operations, apply safe storage practices, post GRNs in SAP, and record user inspections and rejections in the system.
- Handle supplier debit/credit notes, processing of bills, transit insurance knowledge, e-way bill issuance, and RGP/NRGP procedures.
- Maintain storage standards, follow FIFO principles, preserve materials properly, and manage shelf-life items both manually and through SAP-based processes.
- Execute transfer postings and consumptions in SAP while ensuring efficient space usage, spares management, and accurate logical and physical location mapping.
- Support inventory accuracy through perpetual inventory practices and selective stocktaking.
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits and coordinate with legal and government authorities when required.
- Apply strong working knowledge of power plant components and project supplies, including how they function and what they need operationally.
- Plan and improve warehouse infrastructure and facilities so they can support project and operational needs effectively.
- Inspect materials at the time of receipt and during periodic checks to confirm quality, safety, and storage compliance.
Required Knowledge
- Sound understanding of warehouse receipt, inspection, rejection, and issue processes.
- Practical experience with SAP transactions related to GRN posting, inspections, rejections, transfer postings, and consumption entries.
- Knowledge of material preservation, shelf-life control, FIFO-based storage, and safe handling methods.
- Awareness of transit insurance, e-way bills, RGP/NRGP, and vendor billing documentation.
- Ability to manage inventory control, stock verification, and space optimization.
- Exposure to audit compliance and coordination with regulatory or government bodies.
- Understanding of power plant equipment, project material storage needs, and warehouse planning.
