Role Overview

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Greenford. The Stores and Logistics Manager will take ownership of warehouse, inventory and logistics operations, ensuring materials, equipment and assets are received, stored, tracked, issued and returned accurately in support of operational and project needs.

The position is responsible for keeping stores operations running smoothly, maintaining strong stock control, ensuring inventory records remain accurate and making sure material movements are fully traceable and auditable. The role works closely with project teams, suppliers, procurement and operational stakeholders to ensure stock is available when required.

The ideal candidate will be practical, hands-on and process-focused, with the ability to organise the stores environment, put effective controls in place and support the efficient movement of materials across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the daily operations of the stores and warehouse function.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, issuing, transfer and return of materials, equipment and project assets.
  • Keep inventory records accurate and maintain complete traceability of stock movements.
  • Track stock levels and arrange replenishment so operational demand is met.
  • Carry out stock checks, cycle counts and inventory audits, then investigate and resolve any variances.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including supplier deliveries, collections and equipment distribution.
  • Work with suppliers, procurement, project teams and operational staff to keep materials moving on time and available where needed.
  • Maintain inventory management systems and follow established processes and procedures.
  • Oversee warehouse resources and contribute to improving the effectiveness of stores operations.
  • Prepare inventory and logistics reports when required.
  • Spot and support improvements in warehouse, inventory and logistics processes.
  • Ensure all activities meet company expectations for health, safety, quality and security.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience working in warehouse, stores or logistics operations.
  • Solid knowledge of receiving, storage, stock control, issuing and returns processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to track materials, manage inventory and maintain stock accuracy.
  • Good understanding of logistics flows, including inbound deliveries, outbound shipments, replenishment and supplier coordination.
  • Experience using inventory systems, warehouse management systems or ERP software.
  • Experience keeping accurate records and handling inventory control procedures.
  • Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage several priorities at once.
  • High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with suppliers, project teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Desirable: experience supervising or leading stores, warehouse or logistics staff.
  • Desirable: forklift licence or practical experience with warehouse handling equipment.
  • Desirable: background supporting engineering, infrastructure, transport or operational settings.
  • Desirable: knowledge of asset management, auditing and inventory reporting.
  • Desirable: understanding of health and safety requirements in warehouse and logistics environments.
