Role overview
Toll is hiring a Storeperson for its Defence Theatre Logistics (DTL) contract in Victoria, Australia. This is a fixed-term position running until 30 September 2026 and supports Defence-related warehousing and logistics activity. The role is based at Wadsworth Barracks and suits someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a busy, high-accountability environment.
What the role involves
You will help manage warehouse and store operations for Defence equipment, supplies, and materials. The job covers inventory handling, freight movement, storage, picking, packing, distribution, and the use of warehouse systems and material handling equipment. Work is carried out under the guidance of a Team Leader and must meet Toll Government & Defence contractual obligations, Defence regulations, safety rules, and site standards.
Key duties
- Accept, store, pick, pack, and dispatch Defence items and supplies.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
- Update and monitor stock through warehouse management systems and act on reports.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
- Follow all Defence, contractual, and safety requirements while completing daily tasks.
- Work with the team to meet operational goals and deadlines.
- Assist with outdoor store deliveries and equipment movement to Defence personnel in the field.
What you need
The ideal candidate will bring warehouse or logistics experience, although this is preferred rather than mandatory. A current forklift licence is desired, or you should be willing to obtain one. A valid C class driver licence is required. You should be physically capable of manual handling work, able to communicate well, work closely with others, manage time effectively, and maintain a strong focus on safety and accuracy.

Eligibility and checks
Applicants must be Australian citizens. You must be able to obtain and keep an AGSVA Defence Security Clearance at Baseline level or above, depending on the role. Pre-employment screening will include criminal history, medical, and other background checks.
