Role overview
This position sits within Wabtec Corporation’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team, which delivers complex integrated systems work across signalling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions. The team is known for strong project execution, disciplined schedule management, and a high level of customer focus.
As a Storeperson, you will manage inventory at the workplace and support stock control, stock balancing, ordering, and the receipt and distribution of stock. The role is part of the broader Inventory and Supply Chain function and contributes to practical, cost-efficient processes that keep operations running smoothly.
Location and roster
The role is based in Remote Western Australia (FIFO), Port Hedland, and follows a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster.
Key duties
- Receive incoming goods and place them into storage in an organised manner.
- Handle sales and order processing promptly.
- Record stock receipts accurately in the inventory system.
- Work in line with supply chain procedures to keep practices consistent.
- Make sure employees and visitors follow depot yard and store processes and procedures.
- Respond to store callouts when needed and provide helpful customer service.
- Keep inventory records accurate and up to date.
- Process returned goods and any related credits.
- Track items moving in and out of storage and maintain current inventory and financial records.
- Keep materials and consumables tidy and ensure stock levels remain adequate.
- Maintain a register for component tracking.
- Support testing and tagging of portable electrical equipment in the depot, keeping proper records.
- Assess slow-moving or underused stock and suggest improvements.
