About CHANEL

CHANEL is an international leader in luxury, designing, producing, and distributing products across Ready-to-Wear, Accessories, Fragrances, Makeup, Skincare, Jewellery, and Watches. Established by Gabrielle Chanel in 1910, the house continues to focus on exceptional craftsmanship and refined products. Today, the organisation has more than 32,000 employees around the world.

CHANEL aims to help people do their best work by building on individual strengths and opening up opportunities for growth. The company promotes a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive culture, with a strong belief that diversity contributes to the success of both the business and its people.

Role Overview

CHANEL is hiring a Store Planning Executive to join the team in North Sydney on a full-time basis. This role supports the store planning function, which is central to enhancing the brand’s presence in Australia through an ambitious 3-5 year program of boutique renovation, expansion, and physical footprint upgrades.

In this position, you will work with the Store Planning Manager to help deliver small retrofit works and support major boutique renovations and new store builds. The role calls for solid project management capability, design and drawing proficiency, strong problem-solving, clear stakeholder communication, and an ongoing commitment to sustainability and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Planning Manager in managing boutique and retrofit projects from start to finish, including design development, budgeting, scheduling for FF&E, programme coordination, and delivery.
  • Review, adjust, and update project drawings and layouts as needed.
  • Participate in site meetings, share progress updates, and help address project issues and constraints.
  • Contribute to the delivery of CHANEL’s sustainability objectives.
  • Act as an important link between local and regional teams, including Retail, VM, IT, Sustainability, Health & Safety, Finance, and After Boutique Care Architecture.
  • Encourage effective collaboration and knowledge sharing so that all stakeholders remain aligned and informed.
  • Coordinate workflows to support smooth and efficient project execution.
  • Monitor maintenance work so fixtures and equipment consistently meet CHANEL’s quality standards.
  • Track maintenance activities, support local compliance requirements, and promote sustainable working practices.
  • Manage boutique maintenance requests, coordinate the relevant stakeholders, and keep project budgets under control.

What the Role Involves

This position suits someone who is interested in the built environment and curious about the Fashion and Watches & Fine Jewellery sectors. You will work across a wide range of projects and interact with multiple stakeholders. A strong appreciation for CHANEL’s aesthetic and boutique standards is essential, as these directly shape the client experience and the maintenance schedule.

Requirements

  • A degree in interior design, architecture, or another design/construction-related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in interior design, architecture, or a related construction field.
  • Experience in retail design, landlord coordination, or luxury retail would be an advantage.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, project management tools such as MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Well-developed project management, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • A growing understanding of DDA compliance and Australian built environment standards.
  • Confidence, collaboration, and adaptability to manage multiple priorities and changing deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn on the job and travel regularly for site supervision and project support.
  • A genuine interest in design and an appreciation for CHANEL’s aesthetic identity.

Benefits

You will have the chance to grow your skills in luxury retail management and customer service, supported by career planning resources, formal training, coaching, and both internal and external development opportunities.

CHANEL also offers competitive rewards, wellbeing initiatives, learning and development support, and parental leave for all parents globally.

Equal Opportunity

CHANEL encourages applications from a wide range of candidates and values the perspective, experience, and potential each person brings. Selection is based on talent and capability, and personal attributes are not used in the hiring decision.
