Job description
Role overview
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is hiring for a Store Officer position within the Special Operations Command (SOC). This role supports police operations that help keep Singapore safe and secure. SOC is the SPF's tactical unit responsible for providing the highest level of tactical support for crime prevention, counter-terrorism, and public order situations. The unit also keeps pace with new technology to strengthen policing work and crime-fighting capabilities.
As the Store Officer, you will oversee inventory management to make sure stores and equipment are available when needed for daily deployment, urgent operations, and large-scale exercises. You will work across the supply chain function, coordinating with logistics representatives from different units and branches on store maintenance and issuance. The role also involves reviewing products, sharing improvement feedback with the procurement team, and checking contractor performance on supplies and services.
You will be placed under the management executive scheme.
Key work areas
You will build knowledge in identifying logistics requirements and forecasting operational quantities to support efficient procurement and strong economy of scale. You will also help plan and execute logistics support for major operations, deployments, and exercises.
In addition, you will provide recommendations on follow-up actions for misuse of issued stock or loss of fixed assets, and ensure documents are properly administered. A major part of the role is maintaining stockpile integrity, keeping inventory records accurate, following established procedures, and suggesting process improvements to raise efficiency and productivity. You will also apply preventive security measures to reduce the risk of stock loss.
What the team is seeking
The team is looking for a proactive and energetic person to join the Logistics Support Team. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with inventory details, have strong people skills, and be willing to undergo training in logistics supply chain management to closely monitor stock levels and raise requisition or sourcing needs when required.
Eligibility and requirements
- Preferably trained in Logistics Management, Business, General Administration, or another relevant field.
- Strong analytical ability and a collaborative working style.
- Physically fit and ready for hands-on work involving logistics and inventory handling.
- Careful, self-driven, and able to carry out duties with little supervision.
- Effective at communication and building working relationships.
- Able to manage time well and work to tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with SAP considered an added advantage.
Additional information
Applicants who are shortlisted will be informed within two weeks after the application closing date.
