Job description
Position summary
This role supports store operations by gathering shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking area, and the store perimeter, then returning them to a secure storage spot. It also involves delivering friendly customer assistance and helping maintain a safe, organized retail environment. This is a strong opportunity for someone interested in retail or customer service.
Key duties
- Retrieve shopping carts from cart corrals, the parking lot, and around the store, then return them to the designated secure storage area using the company’s approved process.
- Provide timely help at register areas, including assisting customers with carry-ins and carry-outs and checking receipts when proof of purchase is needed.
- Handle routine restroom cleaning and upkeep, including safe chemical use, correct disposal practices, and pre-use inspection of powered equipment.
- Follow all safety and emergency protocols, including procedures related to hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Keep the cart retrieval log up to date at the customer service desk.
- Help maintain a clean, hazard-free workplace by following company policies and operating procedures.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear and a reflective vest, to support visibility and safety during cart collection.
- Complete safety sweeps when needed.
Pay
The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
