Position Overview
Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cartpusher offers an excellent opportunity to build your retail and customer service skills. This role involves retrieving shopping carts from various store areas and returning them safely to storage locations, all while providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, following Walmart-approved procedures and ensuring completion of necessary documentation logs.
- Respond promptly to register requests and assist customers safely with carrying out or carrying in purchases, verifying receipts as proof of purchase.
- Carry out periodic cleaning and maintenance duties such as restroom upkeep, proper handling of chemicals, following disposal protocols, and performing inspections of power equipment prior to use.
- Comply strictly with safety and emergency procedures including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout protocols, and bloodborne pathogen controls.
- Maintain accurate Cart Retrieval Logs at the customer service desk.
- Promote workplace safety by adhering to company policies, using personal protective gear such as steel toe footwear and reflective vests during cart collection for enhanced visibility.
- Perform regular safety checks of the work environment to ensure it is hazard-free.
Compensation
The starting hourly wage for this position is $16.65, with potential adjustments based on relevant experience.
