Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Stockperson/Cartpusher offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the retail sector. This role primarily involves gathering shopping carts from various locations around the store premises and parking area, then returning them safely to designated storage zones, all while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from cart corrals, parking lot, and store perimeter adhering to Walmart’s approved procedures, and ensure completion of relevant logging documentation.
• Quickly respond to customer requests at registers, assist customers with carrying purchases in and out, and verify receipts as proof of purchase.
• Perform periodic cleaning and maintenance of restrooms following proper chemical handling and disposal methods, including usage checks and reporting of power equipment before use.
• Follow established safety and emergency protocols concerning hazardous materials, lockout/tagout processes, and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
• Maintain the Cart Retrieval Log at the Customer Service Desk to ensure accurate tracking.
• Promote and maintain a safe, clean work environment by aligning with company safety policies and procedures.
• Wear personal protective equipment such as steel-toed footwear and reflective vests during cart collection for visibility and safety compliance.
• Conduct safety checks and sweeps as needed to identify and rectify hazards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
