Role Overview

As a Stockperson/Cartpusher at Walmart Canada in Leamington, Ontario, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe, neat, and friendly shopping atmosphere. Your primary duty is to collect and return shopping carts from various store locations efficiently and according to approved safety procedures while supporting seamless store functioning and welcoming customers warmly.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather carts from cart corrals, parking lots, and store boundaries, returning them to designated spots while following Walmart's approved methods and maintaining accurate records.
• Promptly assist requests from checkout registers and customer service, help customers with carrying out or carrying in purchases, and verify receipts when necessary.
• Carry out occasional cleaning and upkeep tasks for the store facilities including restrooms, handle chemicals safely, dispose of waste properly, and inspect equipment prior to use.
• Follow all safety protocols including emergency procedures, hazardous communication, and equipment lockout/tagout to maintain a secure environment.
• Wear required personal protective gear such as steel-toed shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps, and comply with company policies to promote a hazard-free workplace.
• Maintain flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure consistent service.

Challenges and Physical Requirements

• Handling a busy workload efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, especially during overnight shifts which require good energy management and focus.
• Engaging in physically demanding tasks that include extended periods of standing, bending, lifting inventory or equipment up to 20 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with repetitive stocking and organizing duties that require careful attention.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.
