Job description
About DQventures
DQventures is built for seasoned professionals who want to launch a company without giving up their current income too early. The team is made up of former founders and investors who have created and exited several businesses, including ventures worth up to $85 million. Their in-house specialists in entrepreneurship, product, and go-to-market help experienced operators validate an idea, win early customers, and turn it into a live business.
Role Overview
This opportunity is for a founder and CEO to build a new B2B venture from the ground up. The position starts as a part-time, equity-only commitment. When the business becomes financially stable through revenue or external funding, the role is intended to move into a full-time founder position with market-rate pay. DQventures will cover the working capital needed to validate, build, and launch the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the initial discovery work by speaking with users and collecting market feedback to confirm the problem and sharpen the solution.
- Study competing businesses to uncover white spaces, differentiators, and stronger market positioning.
- Build and launch the first version of the business, with support from the venture team, using a service-led, no-code, or tech-enabled model to test demand.
- Own early customer acquisition by pitching, selling, and onboarding the first paying clients.
- Move quickly based on customer input and performance signals to improve the offer, pricing, and overall business model.
- Seek funding when needed, with support for pitch development, refinement, and investor introductions.
- Commit at least 12 hours each week, with the ability to increase involvement as momentum grows.
- Take part in weekly one-to-one sessions with the venture-building team for planning, strategy, and hands-on guidance.
- Accept full responsibility for the venture’s direction, decisions, and long-term results.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is an experienced professional with at least 15 years of work history and a business idea rooted in their own area of expertise. You should already recognize an inefficiency in your industry and want to create a solution that customers would genuinely pay for.
What We’re Looking For
- 15 or more years of experience in a professional or leadership capacity.
- Deep knowledge of a specific industry, function, or domain.
- A demonstrated history of delivering complex work or launching new initiatives successfully.
- Background in sales, partnerships, or business development is a strong advantage.
- Experience in product management, operations, or service design is also beneficial.
- A well-developed professional network within your industry.
Benefits
- 80% equity in the company, making you the majority owner from the start.
- Full funding for validation and launch, including all working capital required to build and grow the business.
- Support from an experienced co-founding team of founders, investors, and operators who have built and exited startups.
- Dedicated weekly one-to-one venture-building support covering strategy, product, and go-to-market execution.
- The ability to keep your current job initially and build part-time until the company can support a founder salary.
- Access to a global community of founders building DQ-backed ventures.
- Help with fundraising preparation, investor introductions, and legal support when the time is right.
Additional Information
