Start-Up Associate

About the Role

Aotearoa Clinical Trials (ACTT) is inviting applications for a Start-Up Associate to be based at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland. This position plays a pivotal part in initiating and activating new clinical trials throughout ACTT's commercial research portfolio. The role involves close collaboration with Start-Up Specialists and the Regulatory team to facilitate regulatory submissions, contract negotiations, budgeting, preparation of study documentation, feasibility assessments, recruitment planning, and management of clinical trial systems. You will help ensure that studies start efficiently and compliantly, enabling smooth transitions from trial start-up phases to participant recruitment and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist with regulatory submissions and contract preparation for clinical trials.
• Support budgeting, study documentation, and feasibility activities.
• Facilitate recruitment planning and clinical trial management system operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline start-up processes.
• Ensure adherence to compliance and quality standards in clinical trial initiation.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a Master's degree in health, medical, or scientific discipline.
• Exhibit excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
• Have high attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Confident in using diverse information systems and technology platforms.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines effectively.
• Adopt a collaborative mindset with eagerness to learn and grow within clinical trials.
• Previous experience in clinical trial start-up, research administration, or New Zealand health systems is advantageous.
