About the Role
Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join their team at Ashley Court Nursing Home in Morningside, Edinburgh. This permanent night shift position offers an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing career in a well-regarded home known for its stable staff and management, and consistently high inspection grades. The role involves providing professional clinical nursing care to residents, upholding the NMC's code of conduct, and supporting the Home Manager in daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Uphold the highest standards of nursing care within the facility.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Provide effective leadership and support to junior nursing staff.
- Delegate daily tasks and manage workload efficiently in the absence of the Home Manager.
- Serve as a role model in terms of professional conduct, appearance, hygiene, and behavior.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, including individual care plans, as per company and statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Ideally, possess at least 12 months of post-graduate experience in elderly care, which can include nursing homes, hospitals, or community settings. Newly qualified nurses are also encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical support to elderly individuals with dementia.
- Proficiency in time management and prioritizing workloads for oneself and the team.
- Ability to offer sensitive advice and guidance to internal staff, residents, and their families.
- Skilled in problem-solving and effectively managing diverse situations within a nursing home environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, particularly in report writing and care planning.
- Capacity to handle complex issues and respond appropriately.
