Job description
Overview
This role is offered through a hiring partner that handles applications and the next stages of the process. The position is based in the United States and is focused on building a strong, scalable, and resilient global supply chain for complex electromechanical parts.
The work sits at the crossroads of engineering, operations, and strategic sourcing. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to shape sourcing approaches that support innovation, speed, and cost control across both new product launches and full-scale production. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to lead across functions in a fast-moving global setting. Success in this position means improving supplier performance, lowering cost, and helping ensure continuity of supply for important hardware products.
Key Responsibilities
- Own worldwide sourcing efforts for electromechanical parts such as cables, connectors, batteries, and similar hardware, while keeping supply stable and aligned with product needs.
- Work side by side with engineering, product, and operations teams to shape sourcing plans, study market conditions, and balance design choices against supplier and cost trade-offs.
- Build and maintain a strategic supplier network that supports fast prototyping and a smooth move from new product introduction into scalable mass production with JDM partners.
- Lead cost-reduction programs using should-cost analysis, value engineering, and negotiation of pricing, contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
- Review supplier performance, spend patterns, production capacity, and market movements to uncover risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve resilience and reduce cost.
- Partner across teams to influence design decisions, material choices, and manufacturing methods that improve quality and reduce total ownership cost.
- Present sourcing findings, risks, and recommendations in a clear, data-backed way for stakeholders and senior leadership.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in global supply chain, strategic sourcing, or procurement in complex manufacturing or technology settings.
- Deep knowledge of electromechanical commodities and supplier management, preferably including cables, connectors, and related components.
- Proven background in should-cost modeling, advanced cost analysis, and leading difficult supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with the skill to interpret commodity trends, market dynamics, and supply chain risks.
- Experience collaborating with engineering and product teams in high-growth, fast-paced, and ambiguous environments.
- Ability to manage international suppliers and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders across a global supply base.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex data into concise executive-level insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related analytical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay with performance bonus potential and equity opportunities.
- Remote-friendly setup with flexibility to help support work-life balance.
- Broad health coverage, including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
- Retirement support with a 401(k) plan and company match.
- Flexible time off plus paid company holidays.
- Learning and professional development support in a fast-growing environment.
- The chance to contribute to high-impact hardware and IoT products with global reach.
