Role Summary

The Senior Accountant will handle core accounting operations across payables, receivables, general ledger, trial balance, reconciliations, payment processing, fixed assets, and month-end close activities.

Key Duties

  • Handle accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry along with verification of authorization and supporting documents.
  • Support month-end closing by reconciling the accounts payable trial balance to maintain accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate monthly and annual closing processes and assist the Financial Control Manager with preparing the annual report in line with IFRS.
  • Prepare and check accounts payable reports and related data promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain the billing setup by issuing bills and invoices with payment terms, due dates, payment methods, and outstanding balances clearly stated.
  • Track cash and cheque payment details for bank deposits.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable to ensure all payments are properly recorded on weekly, monthly, and annual cycles.
  • Produce financial statements and reports covering paid and unpaid invoices, bank deposit records, active account status, age analysis, and collections on weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual bases using IFRS standards.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
  • Carry out month-end close tasks and reconciliations for accounting records.
  • Ensure all postings to the general ledger comply with IFRS requirements.
  • Prepare monthly trial balance reports.
  • Support year-end and quarterly audit activities.

Qualifications and Skills

The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in finance or a closely related discipline, along with at least 3 years of finance experience. Strong time management, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, numerical accuracy, customer service orientation, organizational skills, written and verbal communication, and advanced Excel skills are needed. The position also requires fluency in both Arabic and English.
