Job description

Position Overview

Join Royal Caribbean International as a Sports Supervisor to lead and manage the ship's Sports & Fitness program. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily operations on the Sports Deck, ensuring safe, engaging, and memorable recreational activities for guests at sea.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and schedule all Sports Staff and activities on the Sports Deck, training staff and supporting cross-training initiatives with Youth, Cruise, and Stage Staff.
  • Assist in workforce planning, staffing decisions, and staff performance evaluations.
  • Plan, organize, and lead sports tournaments, competitions, and various recreational events, tailoring alternative programs in case of weather disruptions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Cruise Director to enhance guest engagement and ensure maximum participation in sports and fitness offerings.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization of Sports Deck facilities in compliance with safety and USPH standards.
  • Support revenue growth by promoting sports programs and upselling opportunities, managing inventory and equipment inspections, and preparing operational reports and documentation.
  • Serve as host or Master of Ceremonies for group functions, themed events, and presentations, participating actively in social and entertainment activities including parades and stilt walking on selected vessels.
  • Provide professional resolution of guest concerns to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Assist in shore excursion operations as well as embarkation and debarkation procedures when required.
  • Operate technical equipment such as spotlights for production shows as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Health Sciences, Kinesiology, Fitness, or related field.
  • At least three years of experience in fitness, recreation, or sports programming, including leadership and coordination of large group sports activities.
  • Experienced in supervising, coaching, and developing team members effectively.
  • Strong commitment to guest service excellence and engagement.
  • Proficient in managing staff performance through coaching and training.
  • Familiar with budgeting, operational performance metrics, cost control, and revenue generation.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
