Job description

Overview

This role is based at Humma Support Services Center in Al-Qassim, which is part of TALEMIA Education. The position focuses on developing speech, language, and communication abilities for beneficiaries with speech and language disorders, delayed language development, communication difficulties, or hearing-related challenges. The work involves carrying out rehabilitation and training programs, applying individualized plans, tracking progress, and helping beneficiaries improve expression, interaction, independence, and overall quality of life.

Key Duties

  • Carry out initial assessments of speech, language, and communication abilities using approved tools.
  • Evaluate each beneficiary’s current performance and define training needs in coordination with the relevant specialist.
  • Track progress over time and measure how far the set goals have been achieved.
  • Document professional observations and submit them to the specialist or direct supervisor.
  • Implement approved individual or group training plans for beneficiaries.
  • Train beneficiaries to produce sounds, words, and sentences more clearly and improve speech intelligibility.
  • Build receptive, expressive, and functional communication skills.
  • Work on verbal imitation, auditory attention, and eye contact skills.
  • Support non-verbal beneficiaries with alternative and augmentative communication methods when needed.
  • Deliver speech rehabilitation programs for cases linked to hearing impairment according to the approved plan.
  • Follow up on speech and language disorders and assign suitable training programs.
  • Monitor fluency-related issues and work toward improvement using approved methods.
  • Observe voice, resonance, and nasality concerns and escalate them to the relevant specialist when required.
  • Identify beneficiaries with swallowing difficulties or possible organic issues and refer them to the specialist as needed.
  • Coordinate with the speech and language specialist regarding cases and therapeutic plans.
  • Work closely with other professionals within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Communicate with families and provide approved home guidance.
  • Monitor beneficiaries’ use of hearing aids in coordination with the concerned parties.
  • Prepare session reports that describe performance level and progress achieved.
  • Record sessions, plans, and outcomes in the approved systems used in Sanaad City.
  • Prepare required statistics and periodic reports.
  • Protect the confidentiality of beneficiaries’ and families’ information and records.
  • Prepare and maintain the clinic’s educational and training tools and resources.
  • Contribute to awareness activities and events related to speech and communication disorders.
  • Adhere to approved professional policies and procedures.
  • Keep professional knowledge current and stay updated on developments in the field.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of speech, language, voice, and communication disorders.
  • Working knowledge of language delay, hearing loss, autism, and intellectual disability.
  • Ability to use initial assessment tools and training resources effectively.
  • Knowledge of procedures and instructions relevant to the role.
  • Experience delivering individual and group training programs.
  • Ability to monitor progress and interpret outcomes.
  • Skill in adapting activities and tools to match beneficiary needs.
  • Capability to prepare reports and training plans.
  • Strong communication with families and team members.
  • Patience, flexibility, and encouragement in working with special needs groups.
  • Competence in using computers and electronic systems.
  • Ability to work with assistive communication and training equipment.

Qualifications

The role is intended for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a speech and language disorders track, or a degree in Speech and Language Therapy. Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in training or rehabilitation for people with special needs. A minimum of 70 hours of training in speech and language therapy is also required, covering assessment tools, plan preparation, and report writing.

Work is onsite at Humma Support Services Center in Al-Qassim. The job is a contract position.
