Role Summary

The Specialist Business Continuity position is a full-time role based on-site in Abu Dhabi. It is responsible for building, putting into practice, and continuously improving business continuity and resilience plans across organizational operations. The role supports preparedness by assessing risks and business impacts, mapping critical activities and dependencies, and developing, maintaining, and refining continuity documentation.

Key Duties

  • Perform risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerabilities and operational priorities.
  • Determine essential processes, key dependencies, and recovery requirements across the organization.
  • Prepare, revise, and manage business continuity plans, procedures, and supporting documents.
  • Work with internal teams to make sure continuity plans are understood and actionable.
  • Organize and support exercises, simulations, and reviews after incidents to improve readiness.
  • Track adherence to applicable standards and internal requirements related to continuity and resilience.
  • Compile reports, dashboards, and leadership updates on continuity status and improvement actions.
  • Assist with training and awareness efforts that strengthen organizational preparedness.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in business continuity planning, including the development and upkeep of continuity frameworks and procedures.
  • Solid understanding of business resilience, incident response, recovery planning, and risk management practices.
  • Strong analytical ability to evaluate risks, conduct impact assessments, review information, and recommend practical actions.
  • Clear communication skills for working with cross-functional stakeholders, documenting plans, and delivering briefings or training.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, emergency management, or a closely related discipline.
  • Background in government, public sector, or large-scale organizations is an advantage.
  • Exposure to international business continuity standards such as ISO 22301 is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site in Abu Dhabi, handle several priorities at once, and stay detail-oriented under deadlines.
