Role overview
The Community Wellbeing Specialist Advisor role supports Auckland’s communities by working alongside diverse groups to understand their goals and help turn ideas into practical outcomes. The work is grounded in community-led development, strengthening local capability, and aligning with the Auckland Plan and Thriving Communities action plan. The role requires strong relationship management, partnership building, and accountability for delivering meaningful results.
This is a permanent position within the Central and East portfolio, based in Central Auckland and covering Puketāpapa, with travel required across the communities served. It is a varied role that offers the chance to contribute directly to community impact.

What we are looking for

You will bring substantial experience in community development and be able to help design and deliver new approaches for Auckland’s diverse communities through the Community Programme Delivery team (Central and East).

- You should be experienced in working with a wide range of community and organisational stakeholders.
- You must hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence or be able to travel independently.
- You should be able to manage your week flexibly, including occasional community events outside normal working hours.
Working style and location
The role is based in Central Auckland and involves service delivery across Puketāpapa. It is described as a hybrid position with a mix of home and office working, plus flexible start and finish times.
