Job Overview

The Spa Manager role involves overseeing and coordinating the activities of spa employees who provide various services such as salon treatments, skin care, massage, program coordination, reservations, reception, and locker room management. The primary focus is to ensure exceptional guest and staff satisfaction while meeting the financial goals of the spa department.

Candidate Profile and Educational Requirements

The role requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED along with at least two years of professional experience within spa services, guest service, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Spa Director's deputy during their absence.
  • Ensure that all employees have appropriate uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
  • Understand and assist with financial management including budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment within allocated budgets.
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the spa and related areas and equipment.
  • Align departmental operations with the broader financial objectives and strive to meet or surpass budget targets.
  • Lead by example in guest relations, actively engaging with guests for feedback on services and products.
  • Resolve guest complaints effectively and empower the team to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Promote guest satisfaction as a continuous improvement goal discussed in all departmental meetings.
  • Encourage and support a positive employee feedback culture and an open-door policy to resolve staff concerns.
  • Communicate expectations clearly to employees and escalate human resource issues when necessary.
  • Observe and provide constructive feedback on employee service behaviors.
  • Participate in employee discipline and recognition programs to maintain morale and performance.
  • Oversee new hire orientation and ongoing training initiatives to ensure staff competency.
  • Foster collaborative relationships among team members and celebrate their achievements publicly.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of property policies, disciplinary procedures, and documentation in compliance with standard and local operating procedures.
  • Assist the Spa Director with daily operational management as needed.
