Role Overview

Objective Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Software Support Specialist to join their team based in Palmerston North or Wellington, New Zealand. This key position involves tackling complex technical problems, taking full ownership of critical issues, and delivering excellent outcomes for customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and resolution of complicated customer incidents and technical escalations.
  • Serve as the ultimate technical authority within the Customer Support team, collaborating closely with Engineering, Product Management, Consulting Services, and Customer Support departments.
  • Conduct in-depth technical diagnostics, root cause analysis, and defect detection in enterprise software environments.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple regions and teams to resolve major incidents efficiently.
  • Represent customer interests to ensure their challenges and feedback drive product and business improvements.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to enhance the skills of the broader support organization.
  • Work alongside Development teams to prioritize defects, verify fixes, and boost product reliability.
  • Participate in ongoing improvement projects, automation initiatives, reporting upgrades, and operational excellence efforts.
  • Create and maintain technical knowledge bases to empower customers and internal teams.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated advanced technical support or consulting experience with enterprise software environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities spanning complex applications and infrastructures.
  • Proficiency with databases and writing SQL queries, including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux server operating systems.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Understanding of application servers, virtualization technologies, and enterprise IT architectures.
  • Strong programming and debugging skills in at least one language, preferably Java or C++.
  • Ability to rapidly absorb new technologies and become a subject matter expert.
