Software Engineer (Next Gen)

Overview

The Next Gen group at Neuralink is pioneering advanced brain-computer interface technologies aimed at creating intuitive, multi-dimensional, and bidirectional connections between the brain and machines. The mission focuses on aiding individuals affected by neurological diseases and disorders through innovative engineering solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, test, and deploy software that integrates with neural interface devices and other data acquisition technologies to interpret and influence brain activity.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end development of cutting-edge software systems controlling assistive robotics (such as CONVOY), visual prosthesis devices (like Blindsight), and medical imaging workflows.
• Create algorithms specialized in decoding neural signals and modulating brain functions for therapeutic and assistive technology applications.
• Design user-centric experiences focused on neural device control to enhance usability and effectiveness.
• Support research initiatives by collaborating with neuroengineers and specialists in animal training during experimental sessions.
• Uphold engineering standards by conducting thorough code and design reviews, mentoring colleagues, and delivering technical presentations.
• Participate actively in collaborative environments to share progress and insights.
