Role Overview

We invite you to be a part of the Memberships team within our Commerce Engineering division. This team is responsible for crafting rewarding features that enable creators to earn a living, including channel subscriptions, gifting, and the Turbo program.

Members of this team design, implement, and sustain systems that support millions of simultaneous users, always striving to enhance user experience and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging and interactive features that benefit both viewers and content creators.
  • Design and build scalable, robust applications capable of supporting millions of concurrent users.
  • Engage in operational activities to ensure the stability and performance of live services.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver new products and improvements.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of professional experience in software development focused on scalable systems.
  • Proficiency in contemporary programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, along with experience in distributed system technologies.
  • Proven history of creating product experiences that resonate with users.
  • Strong analytical capabilities including expertise in algorithms, data structures, and distributed system architecture.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Twitch's technology stack, including Golang and TypeScript/React frameworks.
  • Experience with mobile application development, either native or hybrid platforms.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and Step Functions.
  • Personal interest in gaming, live streaming, or the Twitch platform itself.

Additional Information

We comply with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance by considering qualified candidates with arrest and conviction records for employment.

The base salary range depends on location and experience: for Seattle, WA it is $110,500 to $160,000 annually; for San Francisco, CA it ranges from $127,100 to $185,000 annually. The compensation package includes sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units.
