Position Overview

The Software Engineer Intern role serves as a foundational position designed for aspiring software engineers. The role involves leveraging application development methods, tools, and processes while supporting Moda’s IT Application Development Output Team. This opportunity is remote and part-time.

Compensation

The hourly wage ranges from $23.34 to $26.26, dependent upon experience and qualifications. Candidates below the minimum qualifications will be compensated at the lower end of the scale.

Candidate Requirements

• Enrollment as a sophomore or higher in a bachelor's program related to Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Basic programming skills in scripting or object-oriented languages.
• Understanding of fundamental database concepts and experience with SQL or equivalent languages.
• Strong foundational programming and technical abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and consistently present a professional business demeanor.
• Reliable attendance and adherence to a mutually agreed work schedule.

Primary Duties

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of SQL stored procedures and associated database objects.
• Develop or revise reports using Power BI.
• Conduct development testing activities.
• Engage collaboratively with fellow engineering team members.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.

Working Environment

• Office-related tasks involve extensive time at a computer, repetitive keyboard use, and frequent phone communication.
• A stable, high-speed wired internet connection is required to support remote work.
• Comfort with virtual meeting platforms and appearing on camera during trainings and meetings is necessary.
• The role may occasionally require work beyond regular hours, including evenings and weekends to fulfill business needs.
