Role Overview
We are recruiting a skilled Front-End Software Engineer possessing a solid foundation in computer science and design. This role involves creating front-end web applications for simulation and optimization software that integrates probabilistic models of physical systems. Teams consist of 2 to 20 members, including Research Scientists and Software Engineers, who collaborate throughout the entire process from initial concept development through to deployment. Team roles are flexible, encouraging contributions aligned with individual strengths and opportunities to acquire new skills. Candidates should have expertise in UI/UX design and front-end web application development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Proficiency in React
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with web application design and front-end development using various frameworks or languages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum two years relevant professional experience
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory as candidates must pass a security clearance and meet classified information access requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Programming experience in Java or Python
- Experience with Spring Boot, Redux, WebGL, and/or OpenGL
- Capable of designing and implementing user interfaces
- Skills in troubleshooting and optimizing web pages for security and performance
- Familiarity with front-end testing and mocking frameworks
- Exposure to back-end development, API design, and relational or document databases
Work Location
The position is based in Reston, VA. The selected candidate is expected to work onsite five days per week at the Reston office.
