Social Performance Advisor - 12 Months Fixed-Term Contract

About the Role

Join Alcoa Australia's External Relations and Sustainability team in Perth as a Social Performance Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, reporting to the Social Performance Manager, you will be integral in enhancing community relationships and spearheading initiatives that deliver enduring value for both our communities and business operations. You will collaborate across Alcoa's regional sites and with varied stakeholders, supporting Community Relations and Social Performance teams to generate positive social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment and ongoing use of the Social Information Management System (SIMS) for Australian operations, including conducting training sessions, user assistance, and ensuring adoption post-launch.
• Coordinate with global teams, IT experts, and local stakeholders to meet project deadlines, requirements, and governance standards.
• Manage change and engage stakeholders to encourage consistent use of SIMS throughout Australian sites.
• Facilitate transition from existing social performance platforms, including data migration, aligning processes, and identifying improvement opportunities.
• Promote inter-team collaboration to enhance understanding and alignment with social performance objectives.
• Develop and apply methods to collect both quantitative and qualitative data relating to social performance indicators.
• Assist in overseeing the application, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of social and human rights impacts and risks within Alcoa Australia.
• Maintain awareness of relevant industry standards, regulations, and innovative practices, integrating them into organisational strategies.

Candidate Profile

• Possess tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Sustainability, Business, or similar disciplines.
• Demonstrable experience in social performance or community relations roles.
• Skilled in social impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and crafting and executing social performance initiatives.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with experience interpreting and communicating complex datasets.
• Holding a current C-Class Driver's Licence is advantageous but not mandatory; occasional travel to Alcoa sites will be required.
