Subsense is a deep-tech company building what it describes as the world’s first non-surgical, bidirectional brain-computer interface using plasmonic and magnetoelectric nanoparticles. The company’s aim is to enable direct communication between the human brain and AI, beginning with medical use cases like stroke recovery and then expanding toward cognitive enhancement for healthy users. Based in Palo Alto, Subsense brings together scientists and engineers working to reshape human–machine interaction.
The Opportunity
Subsense is looking for a practical, self-driven Social Media & Website Manager to run the company’s website and social presence and keep content moving consistently. You will work with the Brand Experience Manager, who owns PR strategy and agency coordination, while you handle execution across owned channels. The role begins part-time over the summer for buildout and transitions into full-time in the fall for execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and refresh content on the WordPress website and across LinkedIn, X, and YouTube, making sure everything stays accurate, current, and aligned with the brand voice.
- Take ownership of social media execution by planning content, producing posts, maintaining a regular publishing rhythm, and responding quickly to relevant developments and conversations.
- Prepare tasks for designers and video support by writing clear briefs, assigning timelines, and checking deliverables for brand alignment.
- Work alongside the external PR agency on timing and amplification while the Brand Experience Manager oversees PR strategy; convert coverage, preprints, and company milestones into social and web content.
- Keep the content calendar organized, maintain a basic SEO/AEO foundation for key terms, and track website and channel performance with insights and recommendations.
What You Bring
- At least 3 years of experience managing social media and digital content for a brand, startup, or agency.
- Strong social judgment, a proactive mindset, and sharp writing skills, with the ability to turn technical or scientific material into clear, credible messaging.
- Practical experience with WordPress, including publishing, page updates, and basic SEO, plus confidence using LinkedIn, X, and YouTube along with their scheduling and analytics tools.
- Comfort working with designers and video contributors using tools such as Figma, Canva, or Adobe.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and stay accountable with limited supervision.
Preferred Experience
- Background in deep tech, neurotech, or science communication is a strong advantage.
- Experience with SEO/AEO, video editing, or supporting a launch or fundraising process is also beneficial.
